Self-management

Self-management has become a popular term of behavioural interventions. The aim of this article is to offer a short history of self-management and the skills gained by self-management as well as“work-culture” behaviors.

Self-management is a good way to make ourselves perfect and get good skills related to management in order to blend with work-culture. However, some skills are required such as problem-solving, decision-making, and resource utilization. People want to solve their problems by themselves. This gives confidence to face tough situations
and tremendous courage to face the real world. In this competitive world, people should shoulder their own responsibilities and personal problems with available resources.

I’ve realized that the following rules are of great importance when it comes to self-management:

  • Live by your values, whatever they are. You confuse people when you don’t, because they can’t predict how you’ll behave.
  • Speak up! No one can “hear” what you’re thinking without you willing to stand up for it. Mind-reading is something most people can’t do.

With these rules, I think decision-making becomes easier which will lead to development of leadership & managing skills.
